I'm still here

OK, OK. So it's been a few weeks since I have had an entry. I admit that I have been a little lax but what I have realized is that there are two key ingredients that are necessary to be a successful blogger. The first is time and the second is mental energy. Both of these ingredients have been quite sparse in my life for the first quarter. I blame marching band but it is over now so hopefully these entries will be a little more frequent.

Marching band is over but life has not slowed down much. My first Saturday that I didn't have to travel I did nothing else but travel. But this was strictly for pleasure. We went to Fremont to see my family and to see my niece in her first musical. Now I don't know if the Emmy Awards have "villager" category, but if they did there would be no competition. She was fabulous, and I think she had a little fun being in a production.

Monday was of course Halloween and it started off for us about 6:00. I took a little pink princess and a Jedi Knight around the neighborhood for their annual sugar fix. It was a rather treacherous journey as a long cape and plastic high heels caused many spills (both bodily and candily).

About 7:00 we headed out to the annual Bibleland Carnival, a local event that gives kids an alternative to prowling around the streets after dark. It was much fun and the kids had a great time. I stayed to help clean up after the event ended at 8:30. It was amazing to me that an event that attracted over 2,000 people and involved hundreds of volunteers came down to about 8 people to clean it all up. I got home about 10:30 but I was really glad I stayed.

Tuesday evening brought the first jazz band concert of the year, which went very well. The wife and kids stayed home to recover from the previous night and as Iceman did his homework, the Princess played school teacher. She was a very dedicated teacher and when her meeting with "Pete's Mom" ran a little long she did what any good teacher would do. She pooped her pants. When her mother asked her why she did it her only response was "I was talking to Pete's mom".

The end of the week is looking good. Nothing to do tomorrow, nothing on Friday, but on Saturday I have to...No, wait...Nope, nothing to do then either. Looks real good to me.

Love to you all.

YYYYEEEEAAAAHHHH!!!! I'm so glad you are blogging again. I missed your wonderful stories and your sense of humor.
Since you are a good teacher does that mean you have pooped youe pants after talking to Pete's mom?
Can you do the video blogs? I can't even open them because I have dial-up. I think Will is trying to force me to get high speed.
Love ya & we'll talk tomorrow.
